Frequency Conversion Drive System of Blast Furnace Blower Motor in Xiuwen County Guiyang City

In the whole blast furnace system, the blast furnace blower is the most important power equipment in the process of blast furnace ironmaking. It needs to provide the oxygen needed for blast furnace smelting and the power needed to overcome the resistance of blast furnace charge column. It can be called the heart of the whole blast furnace system. However, as the blast furnace blower is the most core equipment in blast furnace production, the motor power capacity is the largest and its continuous operation is directly related to the safe production of the blast furnace system. The 450m³ blast furnace blower motor (1 set of 10kV, 6800kW, 1 set of 10kV, 4000kW, frequency conversion system of 1 with 2) ofNuoya Seiko company in Guiyang Xiuwen was successfully put into operation on December 6, 2018. In order to ensure the high reliability of the system, the Schorch converter adopts technologies of series connection of 9-level power units, double redundancy of fans on cabinet top and bottom (configuration of N+2), double hot standby of the control machine, 1.5 times amplification of rectifier capacity, etc. The system will issue an alarm but does not affect the normal operation of the converter with the failure of a single module or fan, which greatly improves the reliability of the system. A DTU device was added to the MV frequency converter, which was used for remote connection of the users' background terminal to our converter, for data extraction and remote operation. The project is currently the only one with a frequency converter used for renovation in blast furnace blower system in China, with a certain degree of representation.
